Humanitarian Data Exchange

UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs

Emerging information technologies are enabling humanitarian organizations to improve the collection, communication, and analysis of data, in order to more effectively coordinate the international response to crises. In 2014, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) launched the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX), an open data sharing platform for UN agencies, IGOs, NGOs, and governments.

The launch microsite

I was responsible for designing and developing an animated microsite to help introduce this important initiative. The latest web techniques and technologies were used, including GitHub and the GreenStock TweenMax javascript library, to create this responsive one pager.

Illustrations and the short animated film are by Nice Soft T-shirt. Additional branding visual assets provided by Frog.

Visit the launch site.
